Low From outdoornut at btinternet.com Tue Aug 10 13:06:52 2010 From: outdoornut at btinternet.com (Ian Savage) Date: Tue Aug 10 13:07:32 2010 Subject: [VC Walcot] Castle Combe racing, Thursday12th August. Message-ID: <3D7949F1B6114336988DA42203090E1B@Denali> This Thursday is the last of the Summer series at Castle Combe. To date this has been a handicap race which results in some fast riding with the Elite, 1st and 2nd Category riders for all. This week it is going to be a bit different, the race will be split into 2; there will be an Elite, 1st and 2nd Cat race and a 3rd and 4th Cat Race. This is the same format as Merrifield and Upavon circuit races and is generally a more balanced event. It is possible that this will be adopted as the standard format next year at Castle Combe as this is a "pilot event". So if you fancy a go at some racing come along. The race starts at 19:30 and can only be entered on the day. If you have any questions drop me a mail. Cheers Ian Savage -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The racing is split into a National B, Elite, 1st and 2nd Cats race and a Regional B, 3rd and 4th Cat race. Entry on the Day is ?15.00. More information can be found here: http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/29447/VC-Bristol-Castle-Comb e-Criteriums This should be a good event and is organised by a local club, so if you already race or fancy a go it would be great to see you there. There is also a race on the 4th September at Merrifield Airfield (Ilton, near Yeovil). Those of you who have ridden there know it is a great circuit with good racing to be had, and is split into 2 races as above. More information can be found here. http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/14245/1st-Chard-Wheelers-Aut umn-Criteriums-Incorp-SWest-Reg-Champs Entry is on the day only. There is more closed circuit racing at Merrifield on the 18/09/10, details here: http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/16409/TVCRA-Circuit-Races This is split into races for: Women (All Cats) 4th Cat Men 3rd Cat Men E,1 and 2 Men Again the more the merrier, and entry is on the day only. So if you?ve had that ?I might like to have a go at racing? in your head all Summer but not got around to it come and give it a go .you might just like it! Any questions give me a shout. Cheers Ian Savage. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... A huge thanks must go to all those that helped last year and I hope they found it enjoyable enough to return this year! It is essential that we have enough marshals for the day, so please do what you can to support your the club for this great event. Please feel free to email me with any queries!
