Just to keep things nice and complicated, there are in fact three versions of MTB-OZ.

MTB-OZ is the original and best, full-flavoured version, complete with silliness, in-jokes and other stuff. Oh, and mountain biking. Sometimes.
MTB-OZ-serious is, as the name suggests, a serious list. It's restricted to on-topic discussion of moutain bikes and mountain biking. That it exists gives you some idea of the nature of MTB-OZ. If you are looking for a relatively low-traffic list, this is the one to join.
MTB-OZ-chix is a list for female mountain bikers, run by MTB-OZer Marti Broder.
